The food and the service were both great. My family and I will definitely return to this homey place next time we are near. Also, the onion rings were perfect.

Amazing Fried Chicken!!! KFC eat your heart out! Some of the best tasting an most crispy chicken I've ever had. Don't pass this place up! Down home cooking buffet at the best prices around. Want something different than what's on the buffet? They have an extensive menu also. An then there's the southern charm service from every person we spoke to. Very clean and well organized diner atmosphere. What a little treasure of a place we were lucky to find!

We were just passing through and saw this on Yelp. Stopped in to eat lunch. Lots of cars Buffet. Needed more meat choices, but the fried chicken was good. The Brussel sprouts were way too salty for my taste and so were the green beans. The mashed potatoes and yam patties were good. I would have liked the bread to have been warm The service was good. Our server was efficient and the tea was good Would stop again if in the area at the right time. Lots of hometown people go there. It was friendly enough

And we now come to the tale of the wrong turn, and how it led me to a cool restaurant with an awesome name! I've run many trips to Montgomery Alabama, and I'm always looking another exciting way back to Mobile, mostly because Interstate 65 is some of the most boring road you'll ever drive, unless you're a big fan of trees. So I took a right turn I didn't intend and hit US 331 and found myself in a cute town called Highland Home, with "It Don't Matter Family Restaurant". I mean, with a name like that, how could I not stop?! So I parked on that very rainy afternoon, and went inside for something to eat. Now, this is exactly what you think of when you think of southern cooking. The menu was extensive and had everything you could want. Tables were spread out across the giant floor area, covered in table cloths. There is a buffet, for those with a large appetite. Very country, quaint and quiet. So I checked in on Yelp (Pro-tip: make sure you do this upon being seated). I perused the menu, and decided on the chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and fried okra. My waitress was friendly, and quickly took the order to the kitchen, and it arrived shortly after. This was a great choice! The chicken was juicy, and the breading was seasoned perfectly, the potatoes are the real deal, and the fried okra was some of the best I've ever had. The menu and the buffet were both full of choices, so I'm looking forward to going back and seeing what other southern culinary trouble I can get into.

Great dinner Buffet was awesome. The young man working the register was very courteous.

When I say, IT DON 'T MATTER, it's all in the name. And, we hungry on our way home from the beach, so we done grubbed up in this place, but, It DON'T Matter! Bae got the fried chicken plate, leg, wing, thigh and breast with okra and mashed potatoes. Mommy got the same chicken with corn nuggets, okra and mashed potatoes. DeeDee got hamburger steak, with okra and mashed potatoes and a pork chop and chicken breast on the side. Baby girl got the chicken sandwich and fries. Now y'all, I done clowned, I got the 1 pork chop plate with mashed potatoes and turnip greens, plus a leg and wing. Chile, Ms. Bonnie done served us well. This stuff here is hot, fresh and good. We ate it all. But, it don't matter, cause I'll be back.

Good ole country home cooking. A hearty meal for a return trip back from the Gulf Coast. The fried chicken was tender and moist, and the hamburger steak tasted like it was pretty freshly made. The collards and beans were solid too. Best of all was that it was an all-you-can-eat buffet. Quality food at an all-you-can-eat buffet for a great price is a win every day.

Great southern home style cooking! I've driven past this restaurant so many times over the years when headed to the beach, and always had a good chuckle over the name. My daughter and I stopped by recently and I'm so glad we did! They offer a buffet and also a full menu if you want something specific. I chose to try the buffet and my little girl had chicken nuggets and fries. The buffet offered a baked spaghetti dish and big pieces of juicy fried chicken as entrees. The veggies included Brussels sprouts, fried green beans, potatoes, corn, and a salad bar. Everything was delicious! When we arrived it was almost their time to close the buffet for lunch, and the staff made sure to warn me to grab as much food as I wanted! Everyone was really nice. The sweet tea was cold, the staff friendly, the restaurant clean. Make sure you stop by when you're coming through town!
